A Message of Gratitude and Transition from OSUSBC President Bryan Roberts

After 14 years of dedicated service, Bryan Roberts, President of the Oregon State USBC, has announced that he will not seek another term. His decision marks the close of a remarkable chapter in Oregon bowling and the beginning of a new era for our association.

In a heartfelt message to the OSUSBC Board, Bryan shared that with his retirement on the horizon—and recent exciting family news (he and his wife are now great-grandparents!)—he believes it would be unfair to begin a new term he may not be able to finish. True to his leadership style, Bryan’s decision is guided by integrity and his deep commitment to the bowlers of Oregon.

“It would be unjust to step down in the middle of a term,” he wrote. “It is time to dedicate more of myself to my lovely bride and ever-expanding family.”

Bryan’s departure is bittersweet for those who have worked with him over the years. His leadership saw the Oregon State USBC through challenges and milestones alike, always with the best interests of bowlers at heart. His pride in the Board’s current strength and future vision was clear: “We have a Board that represents the best of us with a great mix of experience, passion, and vision.”

Looking ahead, Bryan expressed his confidence in the Association’s direction. With a renewed focus on youth engagement, and innovation through technology,

Oregon bowling is well-positioned for continued growth.

“This is a great time for bowling in Oregon,” he noted.

Though he’s stepping back from the presidency, Bryan is not stepping away. He has offered to stay involved during the transition and beyond, as long as the Board sees fit.

On behalf of the Oregon bowling community: thank you, Bryan, for your years of leadership, steady hand, and unwavering support of the sport we love. We wish you all the best in this exciting next chapter—and we’ll see you at the lanes.
